San Remo SES Unit receives generous donation from Stihl

1 min read

THE San Remo State Emergency Service (SES) unit recently celebrated a significant boost in their operational capabilities thanks to a generous donation from Stihl. Unit Controller Mandy Chancellor expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support, emphasizing its importance in enhancing the unit's efficiency.

Mandy highlighted that the donation, which included a much-needed battery-operated chainsaw, will significantly improve the unit's versatility in emergency responses. "We thank Stihl for their ongoing support, not just for SES, but specifically to our unit. This new equipment allows us to expand our capabilities.”

Technical training manager for Stihl, Steve Gallyot generously presented the unit members with a MSA 220 C-B 36V cordless chainsaw on Thursday evening, and provided onsite training on the chainsaw, stating that the battery tool is more user friendly than a petrol one.

“This is great, it means it’s ready to use when we need it!”

The San Remo SES unit's growth continues, with a new member recently joining, bringing the total membership to 24. Mandy noted the vital role community engagement plays in the success of the SES, stating, "Our volunteers are the backbone of our unit, and community support is essential for us to be prepared for the season ahead.”

The San Remo SES unit is committed to providing reliable emergency services, and with the continued support from businesses like Stihl, they are better equipped to serve the community.
