Tis the season for Christmas carols

1 min read

WHICH one is your favourite? Is it one of the traditional carols like Silent Night, O Holy Night, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing or Joy to the World?

Maybe Away in a Manger, The First Noel, Deck the Halls, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or We Wish You a Merry Christmas does it for you.

Or the ever-popular, All I Want for Christmas Is You!

Whatever your fancy you’re likely to be able to sing-a-long at one of the Christmas carols events coming up in a town near you.

One of the most popular locally is the Cowes Carols by the Bay, this Tuesday, December 5pm to 9.45pm.

Every year, hundreds gather to share festive spirit and sing at Cowes Carols by the Bay, organised by Island Voice.

Catch up with friends or bring the family as you make your way to the Amphitheatre on The Esplanade at the Cowes foreshore.

Cowes Carols by the Bay starts at 5.30pm with a market, rides and of course, a visit by the jolly man himself, Santa.

There will be free children’s activities, including rides, face painting, and an animal farm. Father Christmas will arrive at 6.30pm followed by local artists playing music at 7.30pm.

The Carols by Candlelight main event will commence at 7.30pm. The carols will finish at 9.30pm with the Cowes Community Fireworks display to follow, making for a grand finale to a brilliant evening.

Entry is free, and visitors are welcome to bring picnic rugs, chairs, food, and drink (no alcohol permitted).

So, grab your family and friends, a picnic basket, and a blanket, and relax as you listen to your favourite Christmas Carols.
