VIC Emergency has issued a Thunderstorm Warning for West and South Gippsland, including the Bass Coast Shire area with conditions likely to produce large hailstones and damaging winds.
Already some storm cells have been sweeping across the area and more are set to follow.
Wonthaggi has been one of the towns named as likely to be impacted.
“In the affected areas heavy rainfall increases the risk of debris flows, runoff may carry ash, soil, rocks and vegetation on to roads and into waterways.’
Hailstones of 2cm in size have already been recorded in affected areas. Take care.
