Two drivers injured in Glen Alvie Road collision

A TWO-VEHICLE head-on accident on Glen Alvie Road near Membrey Road this morning has left two drivers injured.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.50am. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, including the State Emergency Service (SES), Country Fire Authority (CFA), Ambulance Victoria (AV), Bass Coast Highway Patrol, and Wonthaggi Police.

A driver in his late 20s was transported by road ambulance to Dandenong Public Hospital. The other driver, a 41-year-old male, was transported by air ambulance to The Alfred Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. SES personnel assisted AV in safely extracting the 41-year-old driver from his vehicle.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision. Anyone with information including dash cam or CCTV footage from the area contact Senior Constable G. Prater from Bass Coast Highway Patrol on 5671 4100.

The road has reopened.
