Questions asked on worst roads

TO JORDAN Crugnale and the Victorian Labor Government – When are you going to fix the roads and potholes in Bass Coast?

According to a 2024 report from the RACV, two out of the 12 most dangerous roads in Victoria are right here in Bass Coast; Bass Highway (Jam Jerrup to Leongatha M420/B460) and the Phillip Island Road (Phillip Island B420). Potholes and poor road condition were the top issues identified, with an overwhelming 64 per cent of participants identifying these as the primary safety issue; up from 46 per cent in 2021.

And according to the Age newspaper, drivers are suffering shredded tyres, smashed gearboxes and other motor vehicle damage from monster potholes. Do you actually care that people’s lives are now in danger? Have you advocated to your government to have the roads repaired to a proper and safe condition? When? And with what result?

Thanks to your government, the state of the roads in Victoria are now a national disgrace – so exactly when do we get to see the problem fixed?
