BASS Coast Health (BCH) has invested in new clinical handsets that are integral to the operation of a safe and sophisticated sub-regional health service.
The handsets are used by medical and support services staff to communicate via internal and external voice calls, to ensure we get the right care in the right place, and they also provide alerts for staff if someone needs help or if there are clinical risk or duress situations.
The new Spectralink handsets will replace the very dated ASCOM handsets across all sites including Wonthaggi Hospital, San Remo and Phillip Island Health Hub, to ensure staff have the latest technology to help them to provide the best care to the community; and is part of a $1/2 million new investment in technology.
“This upgrade is a critical part of our strategy to enhance information and communications technology across the health service,” BCH CEO Jan Child said.
“Our Spectralink Go Live support team and Learning and Development team are helping staff to maximise the features of the Spectralink handsets by providing ongoing training and support.
“Thanks to all teams involved with this major investment in our infrastructure. Projects such as this have been funded by the Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion, and they are critical tools in ensuring safety for our staff and patients.”
