AUSTRALIA Day was rounded out in relaxed style at the Oz Day at Daly event, now in its fifth year, featuring three local bands and musicians, games for the kids, plenty of food and drink catered for by the Dalyston Football Netball Club and of course, the fireworks at night.
And the weather could not have been better with the breeze even moderating as the night got closer, setting up ideal conditions for the fireworks which rounded out a very busy Australia Day across the region.
“There’s been a lot on today but this is good. We’ve had a successful day,” said Dalyston FNC Vice President Andy Thomas.
Phillip Island musicians Imogen Price and Mark and Dave of The Times duo book-ended a big performance by newcomers Bass Coast blues-surf outfit Ozone Street which kept revellers entertained on the expansive green Dalyston oval.
Kids’ amusements, including Walk on Water, Pop-a-Duck, Laughing Clowns, an old-fashioned shooting gallery and aerial trampolines, absorbed plenty of energy before everyone settled down for the sound and light show that concluded an eventful Australia Day.
