POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two Bass Coast Highway Patrol officers were assaulted in Foster on Thursday, March 21 at 10.30am on Main Street, Foster.
It’s understood the police officers were conducting investigations into traffic offences when they intercepted a vehicle.
A 58-year-old male from Port Welshpool has been charged with multiple offences and remanded in custody to appear at Latrobe Magistrates at a later date.
A 20-year-old male also from Port Welshpool has been charged with similar offences but bailed to appear at Latrobe Magistrates at a later date.
Investigations into the assault on the two police offers is ongoing and police have requested anyone with mobile phone footage or dash cam footage between 10.30am and 11am on March 21 on Main Street and in the Foster area to please come forwards.
