Royalty congratulate Marie

RARELY does a letter arrive at the door from Australia’s King and Queen.

Turning 100 on January 16 Marie Clement of Coronet Bay not only received a message of congratulations from Charles and Camilla but the Governor-General Her Excellency Ms Sam Mostyn AC and the Prime Minister of Australia Hon Anthony Albanese MP as well.

Marie will be celebrating her centenary with family and friends including her three children, four of her grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren at La Provincia in Corinella.

Marie Clement and her husband bought their house in Coronet Bay in 1985 and moved permanently the following year.

At that time, the Bay was a very quiet place according to daughter Chris.

“Mum often enjoyed walks on the beach with her dog Dale.”

Marie’s husband and Chris’s father passed away in 2001.

“Mum loved it here so much she stayed on,” said Chris.

At 100 Marie lives in Coronet Bay with Chris’s brother Des who is her full-time carer.
