PLANS to begin weekly Store Sales at Leongatha Saleyards from today, August 1, have been put on hold, as has the intention to have two groups of agents each selling on a separate week.
Today's sale was cancelled, with the Victorian Livestock Exchange (VLE) advising it had been informed by the South Gippsland Stock Agents Association there would be insufficient cattle numbers to proceed.
The next Leongatha Store Sale will be held this coming Thursday August 8, with another on Thursday August 22, both of which will feature all agencies.
The Thursday September 5 and Thursday September 19 Store Sales are intended to comprise Elders, Alex Scott & Staff, Baw Baw Livestock, and Everitt, Seeley & Bennetts..
Nutrien, SEJ and Phelan & Henderson & Co will sell on Thursday September 12 and Thursday September 26.
Store Sales then continue on a weekly basis with agents alternating weeks, the VLE stated.
