1 min read

EXCITEMENT was in the air as Grade 4/5 and 5/6 students from Loch Primary School embarked on an unforgettable excursion to SRH Poowong, thanks to the incredible support of the Race Victoria Program. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to dive into the fascinating world of milk transportation, mechanical logistics, and cutting-edge technology, giving them a firsthand look at industries that keep our communities running.

From the moment students arrived at SRH Poowong, they were immersed in an engaging and educational experience. The program introduced them to the complex process of milk transport, showing how raw milk is collected, stored, and safely delivered to processing facilities. The students were amazed by the scale of the operation and the meticulous planning required to ensure efficiency.

The excursion also delved into mechanical and logistics operations, where students explored the technology behind modern transport fleets. They learned about vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and the role of advanced machinery in keeping the industry moving. With hands-on activities and expert guidance from the SRH team, students saw how science, engineering, and innovation come together in the real world.

This experience was made possible through the Race Victoria Program, which aims to connect students with industries and career pathways in the agriculture sector that they might not otherwise be exposed to. By partnering with SRH Poowong, Race Victoria has helped foster curiosity and inspire young minds to consider future careers in logistics, mechanics, and transport industries.

Students and teachers alike thoroughly enjoyed the excursion, with many calling it one of the best learning experiences of the year. The combination of hands-on learning, industry insights, and real-world application made it an invaluable opportunity.

A huge thank you to SRH Poowong and Race Victoria Program for their generosity, expertise, and commitment to providing such an enriching experience for our students. This partnership has undoubtedly left a lasting impact, inspiring the next generation to explore the exciting possibilities in logistics and technology.
