14 year old arrested by resident during aggravated burglary

EARLY this morning (March 29, 2025), at about 12.15am, police from the Korumburra Police Station and the Wonthaggi Police Station responded to an aggravated burglary in Hassett Street, Leongatha.

It is alleged that a 14-year-old male from the South Gippsland area gained entry to a residential dwelling and stole items, at which time they were located by one of the occupants who arrested the 14-year-old, and called police.

The 14-year-old was then arrested by police and charged with the following

- Aggravated Burglary

- Commit Indictable Offence Whilst On Bail

- Theft

- Possess Dangerous Article

- Going Equipped To Steal

The 14-year-old has been bailed to appear at the Korumburra Children’s Court on April 28, 2025.
