Police charge three after assault at Inverloch

POLICE are seeking information in relation to an assault in A'Beckett Street, Inverloch late on Thursday night, September 26.

It is alleged that at about 11:30pm, a 22-year-old male from Wonthaggi was leaving a licensed premises when he was involved in an altercation with three males, which resulted in the 22-year-old male being repeatedly assaulted, and losing consciousness.

It is further alleged that at approximately 11:40pm, police located a vehicle on the eastern outskirts of Wonthaggi, which was driven by a 20-year-old male from North Wonthaggi, with a 23-year-old male from Ryanston and a 19-year-old male from North Wonthaggi being passengers in the vehicle.

The occupants of the vehicle were all arrested and then interviewed regarding the incident in Inverloch.

The 20-year-old male from North Wonthaggi was charged with offences including affray, assault and refusing a preliminary breath test. The driver’s licence of the 20-year-old male from North Wonthaggi was immediately suspended.

The 23-year-old male from Ryanston was charged with offences including affray and assault.

The 19-year-old male from North Wonthaggi was charged with offences including affray and assault.

The 20-year-old male from North Wonthaggi, and the 19-year-old male from North Wonthaggi have been bailed to appear at the Korumburra Magistrates’ Court February 6, 2025.

The 23-year-old male from Ryanston has been bailed to appear at the Korumburra Magistrates’ Court on February 13, 2025.

The 22-year-old male from Wonthaggi was taken to the Wonthaggi Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
