Inverloch 0/38 d Nerrena 35
INVERLOCH defeated Nerrena on the Leongatha Turf, batting first the Red Caps failed to fire with the bat.
Opening bowlers for Inverloch Jesse Dugard and Harry Butcher had the Red Caps in early trouble and that was compounded by the run out of their skipper Tadgh Gannon.
Despite a determined effort from Billy Trotman (11 off 69 balls) and Archie Gannon (10*) they never got any momentum in their innings.
Rhys Newman (3/2 from 5) cleaned up the tail with a magnificent Hat Trick and was the leading bowler for Inverloch.
Inverloch opening batters Riley Harris (21*) and Harry Butcher (15*) reached the total without losing a wicket.
Man Of the Match honours went to Stingrays skipper Harry Butcher for his effort with bat and ball.
P-Island 9/137 d Imperials 107
THE Imperials won the toss and elected to bowl on a very good looking Wonthaggi Turf.
The Island got off to a good start with openers Heath Womersley and Max Arceo putting on a 63 run stand before Arceo was dismissed for 17.
Henry Peppard joined Womersley at the crease before Womersley was dismissed for a well-made 33, Peppard (22) and Noah Williams (12) were the only other batters to reach double figures as the Imps bowlers finished the last 20 overs strongly.
Klayton McGrath (3/24 from 8) and Zavier Lamers (2/12 from 6) the pick of the bowlers.
Archie Casey and Campbell Reid opened up for the Imps facing the formidable left arm duo of Tim Niven and George McCausland.
Reid was brilliantly run out by Noah Williams with a direct hit to get the Island off to a great start.
The Imps then slumped to 4/30 before skipper Aydan Williams (25) and Cam Bruce (16) dug in with a 46-run partnership to get the Imps back in the game.
The dismissal of Bruce led to a collapse of 4/3 including the big scalp of Williams, Leevi Lidstone (14*) added some late runs but the Imps came up 30 runs short.
A great season by a young talented Imps side will have them very excited about the future.
Heath Womersley (4/33 from 10), Henry Peppard and Tim Niven were the pick of the bowlers.
Heath Womersley was awarded Man of The Match for his great all round game.
• Under 15s
Phillip Island 6/179 d
Korumburra Blue 7/170
A GREAT game of cricket took place at McMahon Reserve with Phillip Island coming away narrow victors.
Batting First in the split innings format the Island put a good score on the board, Zack Hughes (23) and Drew Fusinato (45) got them off to a great start.
Jobe Williams (33) and Harry Arceo (32) through the middle both batted well as Levi Gooch with (3/30 off 8) was the best bowler for the Cobras.
The Burra innings got off to a great start with the Belvedere brothers at the top of the order, Noah, Evan and Flynn.
Noah (51*) notched a half century and retired, playing a great innings, scoring boundaries all over the ground with the support from his younger brothers Evan (20) and Flynn (11).
This put Korumburra in a strong position and with the middle order all getting starts the Cobras looked likely to complete a great chase however Phillip Island held on for a narrow win in a classic game of Junior Cricket.
Best bowlers for the Island were Harry Arceo (3/26 from 7) and Justin Tran (2/22 from 8).
Harry Arceo was awarded Man of The Match for a great all-round game.
Leongatha Town 6/166 d Inverloch 82
LEONGATHA Town were victors over Inverloch at Outtrim, the outfield is in magnificent condition and offered great reward for shots.
Town batted first in the split innings format and compiled a good total thanks to Angus Livingstone who batted brilliantly to retire on 52.
He had great support from Fletcher McLennan (40) and Clayton Quaife, Ty Debono (2/20 from 8) was the pick of the bowlers for Inverloch.
The regular loss of wicket through the Inverloch Innings saw them struggle to get to the Town total with Ty Debono (13) and Noah McLennan (13) the only players in double figures.
Yuthil Ratnaike (3/17 from 7) was the most successful bowler for Town with McLennan, Max Carter and Jack Cashin each picking up two wickets.
Clayton Quaife also did an excellent job with the gloves with three stumpings and two catches.
Fletcher McLennan was awarded Man of the Match for his efforts with bat and ball.
It was a great Semi Final day of cricket, thanks to the clubs for hosting, preparing pitches, ovals for the games, the umpires for their continued support of Junior cricket, and all the supporters for getting out and creating a great atmosphere for the Juniors.
