SURPRISE!
It was the fifth anniversary of the Grand Ridge Rail Trail parkrun on Saturday, April 27.
The Wonthaggi Road Runners and visitors filled the parkrun roster, meaning many of regular volunteers could walk, jog and run the course this weekend.
Thank you to Anne McDonald, Christine Slavind, Damian Paynter, Etsuko Yasunagae, Eudora Walker, Julia Groves, Miriam Strickland, Nicole Creaser and Ronan O Sullivan.
Since April 27, 2019, the Grand Ridge Rail Trail has seen 189 events over the past five years.
In all, 1458 people have experienced the glorious out-and-back course a combined total of 5504 times.
This is all thanks to the 245 people who have volunteered to bring this event to the community.
Looking back through the time capsule of photos on the Facebook page certainly reminds you of just how lucky participants are to have a parkrun event in
Mirboo North.
If it’s been a while since you have visited, or maybe you have only considered it, this is your sign to come and join in with parkrun.
