Local carers were treated to a Gratitude Lunch at the Leongatha Community House today in acknowledgment of all the hard they work do – and to celebrate them for Carers Week. The hardworking and dedicated carers were treated to a full roast lunch, sweet treats, ice cream and some take home slices, hosted by the Leongatha Community House in conjunction with La Trobe Community Health Service.
National Carers week is an opportunity to raise community awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles.
Carers are people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental health condition, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or drug issue or who are frail and aged. Anyone can become a carer at any time.
