LEONGATHA Primary School (LPS) held their School Captains and Leaders Presentation last Thursday, awarding students new roles and responsibilities within the schools.
The assembly was opened with students, teachers and parents singing the National Anthem.
This was followed by a message from Wil Dawson, North Melbourne AFL player who attended Leongatha Primary School and has worked with the students over the past year.
The incoming captains and leaders received sage advice at the assembly, which was, to make a positive change, show up, speak up and advocate for others, look up and around to make improvements, never give up and lift other people up.
The new grade six captains for LPS are Siiri Roberts, Piper Holt, Charlotte Willis and Ryan Perry.
Johnston House Captains are Reggie Read and Billy Fleming, Herrald House Captains are Georgia Rump and Mia Bickel, Wightman House Captains are Milla McCarthy, Ollie Bolge and Brody Jarvis while Strzelecki House Captains are Jaya Dowel and Arky Cameron.
Performing Arts Captains are Hannah Matthews and Elina Reed, Visual Arts Captains are Hazel Rowe and Kaleb Willis, Languages Captains are Annabelle Fallu and Matthew Buckley.
Library Captains are Tiger Hendricks, Nathan Tresize and Hannah Bruce, ICT Captains are Archer Commadeur and Kade Johnson, Sustainability Captains are Harvey Nelson, Archie Wilson and Matthew Indian.
Well Done Awards were also presented at the assembly to a number of students and the age champions from the swimming carnival were commended for their efforts.
