Three drown and one in critical condition at Forrest Caves

THREE people have drowned at Forrest Caves this afternoon with an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirming paramedics were called to Newhaven, Phillip Island just after 3.30pm on January 24.

 

Three women and a man were pulled from the water and were unresponsive.

 

CPR was administered on all four but three were pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

At this stage the deceased are believed to be a man in his 40s and two women in their 20s.

A third woman in her 20s has been airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

Woolamai Beach lifeguards along with police, paramedics, CFA and SES responded to the incident.

The deceased have not been formally identified and their deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner following the death of the three people.
