1 min read

THE FRIENDS of Inverloch Library are thrilled to have booked incredible authors for the year, with the first one to visit being Kate Mildenhall on Friday February 28.
Kate is both a writer and teacher and has produced several books over past years with her latest book being for children.
Each of Kate’s books present a very different reading experience in subject matter and trajectory but share the theme of being very well written.
Kate is the author of Skylarking (2016), The Mother Fault (2020) and The Hummingbird Effect (2023).
In 2024 she released her first picture book “To Stir with Love,” which Paperplay in Inverloch have several copies of, as well as her other books.
Kate has been looking forward to coming to Inverloch to speak for quite some time and she is also planning to visit the primary school to talk about her new children’s book.
For the past six years she has co-hosted The First Time podcast with Katherine Colette, interviewing hundreds of writers including Tim Winton, Helen Garner, Richard Flanagan, George Saunders, Charlotte Wood and many more.
Kate lives on Wurundjeri lands in Hurstbridge with her partner and two children. She is currently undertaking a PhD in creative process at RMIT University and working on her fourth novel.
Signed copies of Kate’s books will be available for purchase on the night.
