Investigations continue for Island crash

POLICE are investigating after a multi vehicle collision occurred in Newhaven/Cape Woolamai on December 27.

Officers believe a Lexus travelling west sideswiped three vehicles, before colliding with a VW travelling east on Phillip Island Road about 4.20pm.

Paramedics and police officers were called to the scene on Phillip Island Road alongside members from the local SES and CFA.

The driver of the Lexus, a 74-year-old Cape Woolamai man, was airlifted to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition with a suspected medical condition as well as upper and lower body injuries.

The male driver in his 40s and female passenger in her 20s of the VW were taken to Dandenong Hospital with non-life-threatening upper body injuries.
