UPDATE: The 50-year-old woman has been released pending further enquiries.
POLICE have arrested a woman following the death of a man in Yarram on Tuesday, January 16.
Officers were called to Yarram-Morwell Road, just outside Yarram, about 3pm on Tuesday after a motorcycle crash.
The man, a 47-year-old from Staceys Bridge, was located with injuries, some of which were inconsistent with occurring in a crash.
Emergency crews treated the yet to be formally identified man, but he died at the scene.
A 50-year-old woman from Yarram was arrested about 9.30pm after attending a local police station.
She is currently assisting Homicide Squad detectives with their enquiries.
The deceased man is believed to be known to police as a result of incidents in the local area.
It has been reported that he may also have discharged a gun earlier in the afternoon, in the vicinity of a motorist at Alberton West.
