Police seek information on assaults and concerning behaviour

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to identify a person who was involved in an incident which occurred at the Oaks Beach at Cape Paterson on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Police have been advised that at approximately 7:30pm, an unknown offender approached two 18-year-old females in the car park area, at which time the offender assaulted the two females by pushing them into bushes, then chased one of the females along the pathway.

It is believed that the offender may have left the area in a silver-coloured vehicle, possibly a Holden sedan.

Witnesses in the area have provided information that the offender may have been on the beach prior to this incident, and may have been in the area for some time before the assault occurred, including acting in a strange manner.

The offender has been described as:

  • Male
  • Tanned skin
  • Between 25-30 years old
  • About 180 centimetres tall
  • Having a solid build (about 100 kilograms)
  • Short dark hair
  • Wearing sunglasses with orange lenses
  • Wearing a black hooded jumper, and also a dark-coloured shirt
  • Wearing shorts

Both victims received minor injuries.

Police have released a computer-generated image of a person who may be able to assist with the investigation.
