Bass Coast Health’s Golf Ball Drop a success

1 min read

THE ANNUAL Golf Ball Drop and Ambrose Golf Day at Wonthaggi Golf Club raised $31,000 for Bass Coast Health on Sunday despite the wet weather.

With support from Headlines Hairdressing, The Cape Tavern and Revive Beauty and Spa the initial fundraising target of $25,000 was well exceeded enabling Bass Coast Health to purchase an advanced camera for the early detection of bladder and prostate tumours in men.

Players could buy a golf ball for $50 from each of the three sponsoring businesses.

The golf balls were then dropped from a nine-metre high bucket and the first ball to go into the hole won $2500.

Eight extra holes contained prizes to the value of around $250.

Co-sponsor Melissa Stirton of Headlines Hairdressing said it was a highly successful day with wide community support.

Special mention was made of the Wonthaggi Club and Wonthaggi Golf Club.
