Newhaven College Board welcomes new member

1 min read

THE Newhaven College Board of Directors is a veritable who’s who of the College and wider community. The Board provide the College with governance oversight and strategic direction to ensure the school continues to provide the highest level of educational opportunities for the community.

“Our College Board comprises members of our local community who each bring high-level professional skills and valuable perspectives”, says Chair of the Board, David Jobe.

The most recent member to join the Board is Damien McKenna, a Principal lawyer of Duffy & Simon, who acts for numerous clients in the property and commercial areas. In addition, he has provided advice over the years for numerous independent schools, focusing on compliance, contractual and policy advice and guiding them through various legal challenges.

Damien is also involved in the local community, providing ongoing legal advice to local sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations, and participating actively on several committees. Damien has one child attending the College and another set to enrol in 2025.

“Over forty years ago, our college was built by members of our local community coming together in a spirit of shared endeavour to create something remarkable,” says David. “It is a privilege to be involved with such a group of high-calibre individuals who give so generously of their time to continue that tradition today.”
