A foundation for success at Newhaven College

1 min read

NEWHAVEN College considers the needs of every child as they make a ‘new start’ at whichever year level they join the school. Year 7 is primarily the year when academic expectations and the social pressures of school really step up a notch. The College’s House structure and pastoral care focus are designed to provide support and encouragement every step of the way.

As students’ progress through the Middle and Senior Schools, the College’s ethos of mutual respect between teachers and students becomes more apparent. A high standard of academic achievement is actively encouraged, with alternate pathways provided along the way. Catering to individual differences among students places great importance on each student being known and their needs met.

The Year 7 curricular and co-curricular program is designed to strengthen each student’s self-esteem and sense of community equipping them with the qualities required for their senior years at school and beyond.  Every student is encouraged to embrace new experiences and immerse themselves in college life by participating in the entire program. Students build self-confidence and a team spirit, during their time at Newhaven College.

Year 7 Scholarships are on offer for students entering Newhaven College in 2026. See details on the College website.

Families are invited to attend Newhaven College’s Open Day on Saturday, March 15, 2025, between 10am and 2pm. Book via the website. For enrolment enquiries please contact Bec Anderson on 5956 7505.
